Writing on the Wall

The art’s not just inside anymore – it’s on the walls, bridges, buildings, signs and streets all around you. Whether a public installation, community fountain or a spray-painted mural, the city is now an outdoor museum, with street art often expressing underlying political and social concerns of the community. Art builds bridges between people and ideas – and street art is often a way to see in to the soul of a city. MFA invites all 2-and 3-D artists to offer examples of public art, including street art, and its effects. The selected artworks may be viewed on MFA’s online Curve Gallery from June 15 through July 31, 2018.
