Collector's Choice
Many thanks to everyone who helped to make the 36th Annual Collector’s Choice, which took place on Sunday October 28 a great success!
As always, it was a fun, lively and profitable event, increasing net proceeds by more than 20%!
Rosanne Colvard Thiel headed an excellent committee and upgraded many aspects of the event, including artwork display, which allowed patrons more room to move around and select their top ten works in anticipation of having their number called. Thank you Rosanne, and all of the other MFA members that helped make this event a success!
The room was abuzz the entire night! The evening began with exceptional food, wine, and fun conversations, and then the real fun began as numbers were pulled and art was selected, with oohs and aahs from the crowd. As promised, the purchase of one $185 ticket ensured an original work of art - and it was obvious through beaming smiles that people were delighted with the pieces of art they selected. As always, a heart-felt thanks goes to Annapolis Subaru and Michele Eichhorn, for hosting the event again this year, to our dynamic MC, Alex Cortwright of WRNR Radio, to Dale Johnson and T. Rowe Price for donating the printing, and to the Annapolis restaurateurs for donating exceptional food (see the list of each vendor below) … all of which contributes to the reason Annapolitans voted the Collector’s Choice as the Best Nonprofit Event in 2011!
Of course, a very special thank you to everyone who purchased tickets – patrons and artists alike – and to the artists who donated some of their finest work. Your support of this event helps MFA to continue on its mission to provide exhibit and professional development opportunities for artists and to provide arts education and outreach opportunities for all Maryland citizens.
Thanks again to all – we hope to see you again next year!
